KareTotal Activity vs Non Peroxide Activity
These are two very different things. Unfortunately a number of honey suppliers in Australia and New Zealand are using the total activity test results to market and brand their honey. Total Activity is very different from Non Peroxide Activity and using this (TA) measurement is confusing customers who are buying a product that does not have the medicinal properties that they are expecting.
I brought some 12+ Health Life (Aulando) Manuka honey for $22, from the Mt Albert Pak’n Save supermarket, only to discover when I got home and read the fine print, that it is a Manuka blend!! The 12+ was referring to the Total Peroxide activity. I took this honey back and got a refund, but lady at the counter was very grumpy.
Anyway, keep up the good work, with trying to stop these people from ripping people off. Its a real Scam. I’ll know for next time.
